Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Be proficient in GMAW welding processes in all positions.

• Be proficient in knowledge and use of fabrication techniques involved with structural steel fabrication.

• Operation of machinery involved in the fabrication of various types of structures. This may include operation of plate shears, ironworkers, drilling and tapping operations, plasma cutting, and handheld oxygen/acetylene torches.

• Proficiency in the use of all fabrication hand tools, including drills, grinders, cutting tools, squares, levels, etc.

• Understanding, and safe use of overhead cranes and rigging equipment.

• Proficiency in the reading and understanding of fabrication drawings and CAD drawings. This position requires the welder to layout material per the blueprints, no jigs are used.

Additional Job Skills:

• All tasks must be performed up to quality standards of AISC Lifting capabilities up to 75 lbs

• Overtime and weekend work required on occasion to complete jobs Maintain production efficiency levels

• Maintain a safe and organized work area

Qualifications:

• Welding experience and the ability to read a blueprint.
